You ever wonder about Mario and Luigi? I mean, wonder, wonder? Two dudes with porn-star mustaches eating mushrooms, dressing up in furry costumes and getting really obsessed over plumbing? Sounds kinda fishy to me.

For all those of you who’ve spent time wondering if Mario was a top or a bottom, there’s Kingdom Cum, a platforming videogame featuring loads and loads of gay sex. Choose your character (Yuppie? Bear? Jock? Leather stud?), then get to jumping. Your goal is to run around the woods blowing or boning as many dudes as you can before time runs out. Instead of collecting coins, you collect condoms. (No glove, no love, brother!) You can’t say Kingdom Cum is particularly original, but if you’re into cartoony 16-bit reach-arounds, this dirty little game is a fine distraction.

OK, time to address this one. First of all, I am not a forensic pathologist, a detective, a personal friend of the Carradines or a doctor, nor was I in the hotel in Thailand when this very unfortunate incident occurred. According to reports on the Internet, homicide has not been ruled out, but suicide has. If Mr. Carradine’s untimely death was not a homicide, then the most likely cause was autoerotic asphyxiation. Michael Hutchence of INXS probably died the same way back in the ’90s, as have a far-too-large number of other people, Frequently, it results in false allegations of murder (when partners are in the home) or suicide. By 1990, adult films didn’t have the corny sense of humor they frequently displayed in the ’70s and early ’80s, but they weren’t afraid to look ridiculous on occasion. Take, for example, The New Barbarians, a late-in-the-game Conan/Ator/Deathstalker-esque porn fantasy that I still love for reasons I can barely enunciate. Not to be confused with the 1982 post-apocalyptic action film of the same name starring Fred Williamson (which has its own cheesy appeal), this film features swinging swords, galloping horses, people dressed up in fur bikinis and a plot about a magic, time-traveling crystal powered by erotic energy. In short: It’s pure porn silliness. But it’s one of the more entertaining, bring-your-friends-over-and-get-drunk sex flicks I know. (more…)

I had to get ready for the year-end faculty party and as I began to prepare my bath I thought back on what had brought my husband, Jack, and myself to this point.  We had both worked so hard, worked so long, and now, in this last year, he had passed his tenure review and was a associate professor, we had bought this house with the down-payment I had saved from my editing job, and we were about to enter the social world of the English Department of this large southwestern university as peers.

As the tub began to fill, I laced the steaming waters with scented salts and the steam that rose filled the room and my head with its soothing vapors.  As I slipped into the warm, enveloping water, I let my thoughts wander to Jack, still at school in his office.

I let my body relax and stretch out in the tub, I let my memories run free.  I remembered when we met while we were both in graduate school, the party at a fellow student’s house that brought us together.  The lights had been dim, the music had been loud, there were jugs of cheap red wine going around the room, and the glow from strategically placed candles the only illumination we needed.

I began to soap myself with a thick sponge, slowly, and savor both the feel of the water against my smooth skin and the delicious memory of meeting my love.  One thing led to another, both in the present and in the past, and I soon found myself cupping my own sex as my mind, my body, and my heart relived that breathless night. Hi Julian,

I have been thinking of getting circumcised. Just wondering if there were any advantages or disadvantages to it as an adult. Do you have any opinion one way or the other?

There are advantages and disadvantages to both, E. Some people really have a preference on either side of the of the issue. One disadvantage: If you chose to be circumcised, you’ll lose that extra sensation that you have now. There are male and female advocates of staying un-circumcised based on the sensation alone. Proponents of the foreskin state that the gliding action (or motion) that occurs during penetration makes the experience more pleasurable for both parties. As you know, the foreskin is a sensitive bit of skin and that sensation can be quite pleasurable. On the other hand, supporters of circumcision state that the procedure has health benefits, including better hygiene and potentially decreasing the risk (very) slightly for some STDs. (more…)
